Overview & Highlights

The Long Pavilion at qualia is a hidden gem nestled within the serene landscapes of Hamilton Island, Australia. Located on the famed Whitsunday Boulevard, this restaurant offers guests a tranquil escape from the lively main resort scene. Upon entering through the secret front gates of the Qualia complex, patrons are welcomed into an atmosphere of refined elegance and calm—a delightful contrast to the island's bustling energy.

The dining experience here is not just about the food; it's a harmonious blend of ambiance, service, and culinary delight. Guests have highlighted the promptness of the service—many noting that their meals arrive less than thirty minutes after ordering. This efficiency does not come at the cost of quality; on the contrary, dishes are crafted with finesse and flair. The standout entrées include Burrata, succulent Wagyu Beef Tartare, and a beautifully composed Reef Fish Terrine, each presenting a masterclass in flavor and presentation.

For seafood lovers, the highlight is undoubtedly the Whitsunday seafood experience, where diners can indulge in a plethora of oceanic delights. Even the sides—Broccolini, Truffle Fries, and a refreshing Mixed Leaf salad—elevate the meal, with truffle fries garnering particular acclaim for their irresistible flavors.

While the entrées are enchanting, saving room for dessert is highly recommended. Options like the Native Berry and the delightful Citrus Reverie provide the perfect sweet ending to an already memorable meal. Guests have remarked on the generous portions, leaving them pleasantly full yet yearning for a little more.

The service at The Long Pavilion is commendable, with attentive staff dedicated to enhancing the dining experience. Personalized touches, like birthday surprises with handwritten messages in chocolate, showcase their commitment to making each visit special. Patrons can expect not only delicious food but also a warm and accommodating atmosphere, making it a suitable choice for celebrations or a quiet evening.

However, it’s worth noting that the restaurant's serene location requires a brief journey from the main resort area, so plan to allow a ten-minute buggy ride to truly immerse yourself in this culinary oasis. Whether you're seeking a refined meal, celebrating a special occasion, or simply yearning for top-notch seafood, The Long Pavilion at qualia promises an unforgettable experience that is worth every moment.

After making it through the secret front gates of the Qualia complex we were welcomed into a very subdued environment. Coming from the buzz of the main resort area of Hamilton Island with all the kids and noises this was a pleasant oasis. The wait staff were all very friendly and ensured we were well looked after and even more amazing was how fast our food came out. We were well into our main meals less than thirty minutes after sitting down, great news for us hungry people. The food was top notch with servings larger than you'd expect at a fine place like this. We had a main each with two sides and we didn't have room for dessert. Our final pleasant surprise was a lovely birthday plate for my wife with a hand written (in chocolate) message accompanying a small dessert. If you're looking for a quiet, refined meal, I'd definitely recommend Long Pavilion. Note of caution however, the peace and quiet partly comes from the distance from the town centre, give yourself 10 minutes of buggy driving time to get there.

Went in for dinner food was absolutely unreal. Rib eye was cooked perfectly chef should be proud dinner service was brilliant. Thankyou Maria and Dennis for the hospitality

Very nice breakfast and dinner experience. Pork belly is amazing & love the seafood experience. Small mistakes could happen but the staff here took quick actions to apologize and resolve them. Highly recommended!

Seafood experience is amazing, food and service were on point. Catered for our coeliac requirements perfectly. Still dreaming about the truffle fries. Not sure how I feel being charged for tap water though...

Dinner here was one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had! We enjoyed the whitsunday seafood experience and it was incredible - not only was it a generous amount of food, but the quality, creativity and flavors really blew us away. Everything was so balanced and nuanced, it was absolutely worth the $320 AUD for two people. The service was also exceptional. An unmatched experience on Hamilton Island that is perfect for a social evening!

Our large group recently dined at the exceptional Long Pavilion restaurant, located within the luxurious qualia resort on Hamilton Island, and once again, it exceeded all expectations. The Long Pavilion is located at the northernmost tip of Hamilton Island, accessed through two large gates and found at the end of a long, winding driveway. Upon arrival, we were greeted by breathtaking views of the Coral Sea and the Whitsundays. This resort truly embodies award-winning luxury, and our group was eager to return to The Long Pavilion as previously we have had unparalleled dining experiences. Our culinary journey began with a delightful reef fish terrine, served with a tapioca cracker, mango gel, nori emulsion, and a hint of fermented chili. Next, we savored the scallops, perfectly complemented by nori butter, furikake, and crispy Jerusalem artichokes. The Tajima 6+ eye fillet was a showstopper, accompanied by pearl onions, carrots, zucchini, and a smoky shallot caramel that left us wanting more. For a vegetarian option, the pumpkin gnocchi was a cracker, served with saffron purée, crispy sage, and a rich cheese fondue. We concluded our meal with a spectacular dessert featuring native berries, raspberry marshmallow, lemon, metal strawberry, salted caramel popcorn, and ice cream, followed by the citrus reverie, which included honeycomb, orange curd, apple jelly, and pistachio cream. Each dish was a masterpiece, making our evening truly unforgettable, and I was fortunate to be able to experience multiple dishes as a simple negotiation with my wife enabled us to swap between one delight to the other. This restaurant elevates presentation and flavor to a remarkable level—10/10 without a doubt, and we cannot more highly recommend this dining experience.

Dined here, and it was absolutely amazing! Definitely recommend booking long before you arrive if not staying at the resort. Even driving in through the gates was very cool, park your buggy out the front and wander on in and experience a breathtaking view from the island. Our server Holly from Sussex, very friendly and accommodating. Started with a couple of Espresso Martini's , delightfully smooth and creamy. For starters we did the Kangaroo Tartare and the Reef Fish Crudo , incredible. For mains (along side a bottle of Kooyong Pinot Noir) we had the Snapper and the Duck . Magnificent!! Dessert we had the Champagne Berries . Amazingly they also provided a Happy Anniversary Black Forest Brownie! Soooo nice. To finish we had the bar come up with two bespoke cocktails based on some key ingredients we liked and turned them into heavenly goodness! What an incredible night, loved every second of it.

Yum! Not just a restaurant in the resort, but a fine dining restaurant! They for sure use the best local ingredients and prepare them to perfection. Look at the fat pattern on lamb and duck! They just melt in your mouth. Even the vegetables are sensational. Highly recommend to people visiting the island!
